Do Life Insurance Or Retirement Benefits Need To Go Through Probate?

Video Transcription:

Life insurance and IRA’s and retirement plans typically don’t because they have a named beneficiary. In my insurance policy area, in my IRA contract, I name who’s to receive the money. They receive it whether I have a probate case or not. Exceptions are, if my IRA doesn’t have a beneficiary or if it’s payable to my estate, then it’s going to be handled by my probate estate. Same with probate insurance. If it’s payable to my estate, it’s going to be handled by my probate estate. Have more questions? Then contact us today to schedule a free consultation!
